Vision
Kia kowhiritia te kēmu poitūkohu hei kēmu tuatahi mō ngā kaitākoro Māori, kaiwhakahaere, kaitautoko, kaimātakitaki hoki
Basketball to be chosen as first choice for all Maori as player, coach, officiator, supporter and spectators
Values
- To reinforce the value of whakapapa, Te Reo Māori and Kaupapa Māori in Basketball
- Provide a community pathway for Māori Players and officials to supplement opportunities provided through Basketball New Zealand
- Provide opportunity for our people to see Maori National Teams play live international Basketball in New Zealand
- Provide opportunity for Māori players and officials to gain international experience
KAUPAPA
Poitūkohu Māori exists to give Māori a chance to experience Basketball as Māori with the values of Te Ao Māori as players, officiators, coaches,spectators, supporters, and whanau.
Registration
Teams for the tournaments are registered through iwi representatives. Please email the iwi representative of your iwi to trial/join a team for the National Māori Tournament and/or 3X3 Matariki Tournament. Iwi Māngai
